I’ll still buy Quinta do Vesuvio in those beautiful 6-pack OWCs, but do understand that the variance in box shapes can be a storage problem.

I very much look forward to trying these, but can I make a humble plea?

PLEASE..! – stop packing wines such as Vesuvio and Senhora da Ribeira in presentation boxes – or at least make them available in standard cases.

Cellaring these variously shaped boxes is a complete nightmare. If the French wines regions can standardise their packaging, why can’t the port producers?

One-upmanship games with packaging, be it odd shaped boxes from the Symington camp, or over-tall bottles from Taylor Fladgate, should be consigned to history.

It does nothing to raise the collective image of the industry, and annoys those of us who like to maintain a well-stocked cellar..

Will you be posting sample menus and wine lists on the Internet? It will be many months before I am able to visit and enjoy the restaurant for myself but I am eager to learn more. Thanks.
